A discovery platform that helps people in Ilorin find, compare and contact verified tailors, electricians, carpenters and other artisans, area by area.

The product

KwaraFind was my entry for the Ilorin Hack4Dev hackathon, themed around reimagining how Kwara is seen, mapped and experienced. Finding a good tailor or electrician in Ilorin still runs on word of mouth. KwaraFind maps artisans across Tanke, Taiwo Road, Fate, GRA and Basin, with verified profiles, portfolios, real reviews and direct WhatsApp or phone contact.

What made it hard

Trust is the whole product. People need to know an artisan is real, nearby and good before they call, and artisans need to be found without paying a middleman. All of it had to be designed and built within a hackathon timeline.

How I built it

  1. 1Search by service and by area, with quick suggestions like 'Tailor in Tanke' or 'Inverter install'.
  2. 2Verified artisan profiles with identity and shop-location checks, portfolios and reviews only from real customers.
  3. 3Service requests customers can post, and direct WhatsApp/phone contact with click tracking instead of escrow.
  4. 4A Pro plan for artisans wired to Paystack, plus an artisan dashboard.
  5. 5Built on Next.js 16, Tailwind 4 and shadcn/ui, with Prisma, NextAuth and seeded Ilorin data so the demo felt real on day one.
